Hollywood has released an official statement to cap off their new diversity reform, and they are pleased to announce that seasoned actress Viola Davis has been awarded the prestigious honor of Hollywood's Magical Negro. Very few have had the honor of holding such an achievement, performers like Denzel Washington, Hattie McDaniel and Robert Downey Jr. only some of the few to have been granted the title.

In celebration of her newfound and well deserved success, let's look back at the life and career of our new go-to negro in Hollywood.

Viola Davis was divined on the holy day of August 11, 1965 in St. Matthews, South Carolina -- a time and place known for its racial diversity, but not so much its racial tolerance. However, two months after she was born, her family moved to Central Falls, Rhode Island, where her mother was an activist in the Civil Rights Movement. At the age of two, Davis was arrested along with her mother for attending a civil rights protest, the infant allegedly spitting at an officer's feet as she uttered her first words, "Do your worst, pig." While in Rhode Island, she lived with her sister Dolores in "abject poverty and dysfunction", sleeping with her family in "rat-infested and condemned" conditions.

However, even Christ herself was tested in the wilderness, as Viola fought and clawed her way out of a difficult childhood through her love of acting and stabbing white supremacy in the groin. After attending the prestigious Academy of Snot Crying & The Dramatic Arts, she later graduated from the lesser known school, Juilliard, in 1993, and received her first SAG credit three years later for passing a vial of blood to that old dude in Leverage who wears a lot of bad hats that are too big for his head. Davis then went on to perform in various small films and theatre productions, some of her starting roles being Maid #3, Diversity Hire, African American Extra, and of course, the always beloved Magical Negro.

She then went on to become the first black artist to be awarded the Triple Crown of Acting -- an Oscar, an Emmy, and a Participation Award for a Hollywood Reporter Acting Roundtable on YouTube. She is also the first black woman to get an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Shonda Rhimes Drama Series, which really pissed Kerry Washington off, seeing as she invented the whole black girl lawyer fixes white people problems thing.

Well, you stay mad Kerry, 'cause our magical negro has racked up even more history breaking achievements, becoming the first black actress to win five SAG awards, in addition to becoming a three time Academy Award nominee. Davis' talent, humanitarianism and advocacy for human rights has garnered an avid fan base as well, earning her the moniker of "Black Meryl Streep". 'Cause if it's one thing that African-Americans love, it's being called the black version of someone richer than them, both in wealth and opportunity. Here's to you, Viola.
